The Good of Philosophy

Because philosophy is about fundamentalideas and beliefs — ideas and beliefs on which others logically depend — it isimportant to study them in order to better understand those that depend on them.Studying philosophy allows us to clearly, comprehensively, and carefullyexamine these fundamental beliefs.

Philosophy is also of practicalimportance, since when we improve our philosophical lives, other parts of ourlives are also improved. There is no more powerful tool for criticallyunderstanding our beliefs and for freeing us from faulty beliefs.

Philosophy’s theoretical benefit isthat, like other disciplines, the student of philosophy gains understanding forits own sake.

Philosophical Terrain

First time playing Skyrim and I just finished the part where I retrieved the horn for the greybeard and beat the 2nd dragon boss fight. I hear that changing gender with showracemenu command can cause problems before so I'm wondering if there is a mod of some sort that makes it safe? I haven't become a vampire or werewolf yet. It's immersive because the baby making happens in the background. And it gives you a menu that you can monitor to see which characters are pregnant. Dec 14, 2014  Introduction I decided to spice up my Skyrim world by adding futanaries to it with the SOS for females addon, and then came across the SexLab Gender Change mod by MonaBabii which let you switch their SexLab gender but, I personally didnt like the way the player has to change the gender.

Reasons and Arguments

In an argument, reasons are calledpremises. Premises are the statements provided as evidence in an argument. Anargument is a series of statements, one of which, the conclusion, is supportedby the other(s). A statement is a sentence that is true or false — that has atruth-value. Good arguments provide good reasons for accepting a conclusion, while bad arguments do not.

The two modes of argument are deductive andinductive. Deductive arguments are evaluated as structurally correct orincorrect (valid or invalid), while inductive arguments are evaluated asprobable or improbable (strong or weak). A correct deductive argument’spremises guarantee the conclusion; a correct inductive argument’s premisesstrongly imply the conclusion.
